2nd shift 5pm-5am M-Thu ($15.75-$17.85)
SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator (Spooler and/or Rib) will feed materials into or remove materials from machines or equipment that is automatic or tended by other workers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs a variety of duties to prepare and operate Rib Forming Machine in accordance with product specification.
• Works from product specification sheet, written or verbal instructions.
• Follows verbal instructions from Supervisors and written instructions on routers, works on select material, performs necessary finishing functions, and packages product.
• Set up and perform operations per operating procedures. To include, inventory verification, proper cutting method, slit width, roll wind direction, tightness, appearance, and length in accordance with product specification.
• Understands quality plans and procedures.
• Utilizes equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and rulers to accurately measure.
• Utilizes simple charts/graphs to determine factors such as cutter and speed settings, etc.
• Records and charts operating and quality data and any required information (i.e., include work orders, labor sheets and timecards).
• Resolve and/or bring any problems to attention of department supervisor.
• May assist in training of new Operators.
• Performs adjustments and minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Utilizes data collection devices and computer data entry screens.
• Utilizes label machine as needed.
• Required PPE must be always worn.
• Observe plant and department safety rules and report any unsafe act or conditions to appropriate supervision.
• Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic reading and math skills required to allow accurate processing of orders and following of department procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude desired.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow with acute attention to detail.

• Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 and at times more than 50 pounds with mechanical assistance.
