Pay: $75,000-$85,000/year

The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for directing and managing reporting of financial data for individual portfolio companies, as well as the corporate holding company level. Accounting activities include: transaction entry such as income, expenses, payroll, payables, leases, fixed assets, loan principal & interest, depreciation & amortization, intercompany analysis and prepaids; account reconciliation and adjusting entries; financial period closing; financial statement preparation and analysis. The position provides analysis and recommendations to management of portfolio companies in support of the achievement of Company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily and month end entries for accounts including, but not limited to income, receivables, expenses, payroll, payables, leases, fixed assets, loan principal & interest, depreciation & amortization, intercompany analysis and prepaids.
  • Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts, posts adjusting entries.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows.
  • Prepare, post and analyze monthly promotional payments.
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly bank reporting, including loan covenant compliance and accounts receivable aging.
  • Analyze various financial expenses during month.
  • Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis.
  • Provide audit schedule documentation for areas of responsibility.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statement variance reports as requested.
  • May do analysis and prepare special reports.
  • May interpret reports and records for managers.
  • Review internal controls to investigate and correct operational issues.
  • Participate in special projects

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance (CPA, CMA eligible preferred)
  • 3+ years of accounting experience; cost accounting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in presenting financial reports and stating professional opinions to senior management team.
  • Month-end close and financial statement analysis.
  • High proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and other Microsoft office products; especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
