1st shift 5am-2:20pm ($19-$23)
 

SUMMARY:  Responsible for testing, reviewing, approval, data entry, filing, analysis and maintenance of all production formulas.  This position includes the creation of product certifications, Berry Amendments, Non-conformance reports, return authorizations and quality checks on products.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Perform and record all tests as outlined on batch sheets.

  • Accurately enter the batch sheet into Emitrack our Environmental compliance program.

  • Proper use of Viscometers, Gas Chromatograph, Analytical scales, Karl Fischer, BYK color machine, PH meter, lab ovens, solid analyzer, Hach Color, Particle size analyzer, NCO Titration, Acid test, dead load test and other QC related test.

  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

  • Properly store, maintain, and label all retain samples.  Dispose of any old retains in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Work with lab technicians, Chemist, Business Unit manager to develop product history and trends.

  • Work overtime as needed or directed.

  • Perform checks or calibrations on test equipment as needed.

  • Answer questions from customer service, labs, Business Unit or Production Office on batch quality or customer complaints and concerns in a timely manner.

  • Perform all in-process and final tests for production in a timely manner and record all adjustments and tests on formula.  Monitor formulas for completeness that all information is filled out prior to filling.

  • Adjustments of solids, viscosity, color, etc. Requires previous batch experience and research.  Formulas must be filed in an orderly manner to ensure easy access when needed.

  • Maintain established quality standard.  Follow prescribed safety rules and department procedures, rules, and regulations.  Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, and questionable conditions to manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

  • Minimum education High School diploma.

  • Basic reading and math skills sufficient to allow accurate execution of test procedures and the adjustment of batches.

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and knowledgeable in MS Window/word/excel.

  • Ability to manage priorities, multitask and workflow with minimal supervision.
