SUMMARY: Execution of project/testing processes and procedures to produce new and support  existing products. Coordination of projects with manufacturing. Focus on continuous  improvements to improve product quality & process efficiency. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Oversee and co-ordinate production of mechanical, electrical, & pneumatic components  in production and manufacture of machinery. 

• Implement new technology & processes to improve quality, increase efficiency, reduce  environmental impact.  

• Document and track projects to report their successes and failures. 

• Preparing quarterly project reports for presentation at business unit meeting(s) as  requested. 

• Support QC & Manufacturing with production with product quality review and testing. • Vendor interface: telephone, email, web conference, & visits. 

• Assist with product and/or processing concerns. 

• Be an active participant and contributor in the meetings, including Quality Circle, but not  limited to-bimonthly or monthly. 

• Assist with the creation of product data sheets, drawings, & design of parts/components,  including archiving and storage of company intellectual property. 

• Revising Process Controls and working with QC to supervise production. • Working with manufacturing personnel on scale-ups of new products, or if they are  unfamiliar with standard line products. 

• Oversee Parts Department by assisting Maintenance with scheduling priorities, managing  inventory of parts & machinery, working with suppliers on design and delivery, and to  assist with part orders when Maintenance is unavailable.  

• Performs other related duties as required or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and five years industrial  experience in adhesives and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and  experience. 

• Chemical, mathematical and reading/writing skills to develop and follow procedures to  complete projects and support manufacturing with product issues.

• Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method. • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and  practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization. 

• Knowledge of National and Regional Chemical Regulations. 

• Some travel may be required.
