Job Overview: 

The Process Engineer will perform as part of our process engineering capability.  Our process engineering capability works closely with our design engineering resources and automation engineering resources to conceptualize, develop, and test the process technologies that enable our engineering designs to be manufactured in volume by our automation resources. The Process Engineer will be responsible for advancing performance of prospective and in-market technologies according to valid and sound scientific principles such that test and analysis can be applied to identify regions of the technology design space where the company can manufacture and improve market-competitive products.  Statistical analysis and root cause analysis is included in the capability.
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new technologies, new vendors, and new processes.
  • New vendor identification and sourcing.
  • Validate the company's process and product quality through testing, analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and initiate process improvement plans and present proposals, status updates and results to Quality Review Boards, Material Review Boards and Process Change Review Boards.
  • Reduce material cost, material scrap and production down time by using SPC / DMAIC methodologies to take immediate and direct actions.
  • Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and applicable industry standards   

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/combined education, at least 3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment specializing in Microelectronics, Electro-Optic Systems or other advanced technology.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action development
