Duties / Responsibilities of this position: 

  • Mold Repair and Preventive Maintenance as required to support Development, Production and Preventive Maintenance. 

  • Maintain, clean and keep tooling in running order. This includes evaluation of molds and end of arm tooling by reading part samples and examining tooling for wear and damage. 

  • Work with Engineers, Technicians, and Group Leaders to evaluate new part samples from molds. Working with Mold Engineering and Automation Engineers as necessary, develop repair plans for tools that can be repaired in house or external. 

  • Support tooling engineering to examine and modify/correct molds and other tooling by most economical and feasible method to bring parts to print if required after sampling. 

  • Fabricate details needed for mold repair and EOAT, using basic shop equipment in a proper and safe manner. 

  • Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness appropriate with the plant 6S standards. 

  • Observe mold trials, and support production as needed to handle floor calls and requests. 

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner. Constantly monitoring area for safety hazards and housekeeping issues and working with appropriate personnel to resolve these issues quickly. 

  • Complete all associated documents including work order systems and business management systems. 

  • Contribute to the Plant Continuous Improvement efforts. 

  • Ensure all production & related equipment is in a safe and nonhazardous working order. This is to prevent injury to personnel and/or damage of equipment. 

  • Must know how to operate Bridgeport, Lathe, Grinder and use other hand tools to complete the task as needed.

  • Must be able to trouble shut tooling and understand what it will take to fix it and get it back into production in a timely manner.


Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED; additional vocational training will be considered. 

  • Minimum 5 years in Mold Maintenance/Repair of injection molds in a production environment.

  • End of arm tooling experience preferred but not required.

  • Mold Repair, assembly, and preventive maintenance of Injection Molds and Hot runner manifold systems, Automation end of arm tooling repair.

  • Working knowledge of Mold construction, Actions, Ejection systems and Hot manifolds 

  • Trouble Shooting/Problem Solving ability using last shots to determine maintenance required 

  • Ability to work on multiple molds 

  • Utilize computer to track PM schedules and order supplies in Oracle (training provided) 

  • Candidates are expected to have a working knowledge of shop safety, Lockout/Tagout, Hoist Safety and Hazardous Materials. 

  • Ability to interact with Production Team members, leaders, and support personnel
