Basic Qualifications
- Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- Experience: Eight (8) or more years in industrial engineering, manufacturing process engineering, or a closely related area.
- Experience working within the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or automobile industry
- Experience in fabrication and assembly operations with application of Six Sigma tools
- Experience in project management, multi-tasking, and managing large quantities of data
- Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes
- Experience designing and planning equipment and production layouts
- Experience in conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
- Experience troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes
- Experience evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with build efficiency
- Experience in environmental and safety regulation compliance
- Experience estimating production times and costs
- Experience with industrial material processing, welding, blast & paint, and parts/equipment assembly operations
General Responsibilities
- Extract, process and analyze current and historical manufacturing data to provide labor estimates in support of proposal and continuous improvement efforts
- Expand knowledge of manufacturing process including welding, fabrication, coatings, and assembly to provide accurate and reasonable estimates
- Be responsible for all detailed processes in connection with manufacturing, routings, and time studies
- Review new releases for design and manufacturing
- Provide shop support to aid in improving the coordination and collaboration between departments and teams
- Analyze manufacturing and fabrication processes to find possible problems or needed improvements
- Evaluate and improve throughput and cycle time using Lean/Six Sigma tools
- Work closely with hourly team members to improve the efficiency of processes centered around assembly, fabrication, and paint
- Identify procedures and tools to improve productivity, quality, and safety for the manufacturing team
- Collaborate with production and other teams by attending scheduled meetings to ensure timely improvements on processes
- Assist with recommendations for new equipment and tooling
- Submit, manage, and appropriate capital expenditures
- Write and maintain assembly work processes for manufacturing operations
- Review and select required tooling and equipment for specialized processes centered around fabrication and assembly
- Process documentation and control of prototype assembly issues
- Assist in plant layout and workstation design
- Enforce quality control to reduce waste
- Implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs
- Assist with financial planning and cost analysis
