General Responsibilities

Responsible for creating new and modifying existing engineering documentation for product lines.  This consists of but is not limited to service bodies, flatbeds, lube/fuel bodies, truck body accessories, oil and gas industry products, and mining industry products.  Responsibilities will focus on electrical & hydraulic design and documentation.  Duties will also include 3D modeling and the creation of manufacturing drawings including bills of materials and other supporting documentation such as work instructions.  Designs must meet customer requirements based on United States Department of Transportation Standards.

Pay: $65,000-$85,000

Basic Qualifications

  • Education/Training:   Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.  
  • Experience:  Minimal experience required, related student internship or previous experience preferred.

Essential Duties

  • Performs a variety of duties to support the engineering team as follows
    • Interpret customer specifications and sales orders to complete an engineering package of drawings and bill of materials for manufacturing
    • Support the manufacturing of product by providing guidance as required.
    • Develop new products to meet sales, safety, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support manufacturing initiatives to provide customers with products that meet or exceed customer requirements while improving internal metrics.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy

Essential Skills
 

  • Familiarity with standard electrical engineering terms and practices.  Must have the ability to design and adequately size components based on customer or equipment constraints
  • Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and the capability to create schematics, troubleshoot systems, and develop work instructions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes
  • SolidWorks or equivalent 2D and 3D design software
  • Superior computer skills & the ability to maintain technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with product liability practices and associated design documentation.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and deliver on schedule.
